Library Overview

Harivallabhdas Kalidas Library of the Institute is a specialised library in social sciences with key focus on economics and other development areas. The library is well equipped with modern cataloging system and has got a huge collection of books in economics. The data base section of the library is updated regularly and most of the data base on Indian economy like Census publications, CSO and NSSO publications and other Government of India and Government of Gujarat publications are available with the library. The library has developed a good network with other professional libraries in Ahmedabad for inter library exchange and loan of books.

Harivallabhdas Kalidas Library (H K Library) is one of the leading research and reference libraries in the city with a large collection of Books, Journals, Government documents and publications of other Social Science institutions.

The total collection of books in the library including bound volumes is over 50,000. The Institute subscribes around 30 Indian Journals and 20 foreign Journals and receives more than 100 Journals on gratis/exchange basis.

The library provides information support and reference assistance to users. The library circulates "Current Awareness Bulletin" for journals and "List of Recent Addition" for books. The library also provides photocopying facilities to researchers at a nominal rate.
